SENORA FRIZZLE and LIZ
Frizz and Liz!
Part of what I love about the beginning of a new school year, is the process of setting up a theme, a motif and new quirks to use in the classroom. This is as much to entertain and motivate me as it is to motivate the students. I'm thinking Sra. Frizzle might be a useful temporary identity for me. And of course, who is Sra. Frizzle without Liz, the Lizard!! (Or iguana, if you must!)
The Magic School Bus is a beloved, but vintage story about a quirky teacher. It remains to be seen if the concept translates to the next generation. But I'll have fun trying!!!
Retired, you say? Of course, I am. BUT I can have a ton of fun with the 1/2 year I'm allowed to teach in the public schools. AND when that 100 days are over, I shall definitely be FRAZZLED. Frazzled Frizzle I shall be!
In the meantime, onward and upward. What do you think about shoes for a motif? As in "Walking in my Shoes" for the introductory project. . . "if the shoe fits." I shall be shaking in my boots, waiting for the other shoe to drop while they search for someone to fill my shoes. I shall be as tough as an old boot, but comfortable as an old shoe as we wait for the powers that be to find someone to step into my shoes. Meanwhile, we hope that the shoe will not be lost for the want of a nail; nor the horse lost for the want of a shoe; definitely not the loss of a battle for the want of a horse, nor the loss of the war due to the loss of the battle. Definitely not!!
Battle on Sra. Frizzle!!
